Bio
Nick Klein is an exciting up and coming fighter in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). His
journey into mainstream MMA began when he had been granted the privilege to
fight on Spike Televisions hit TV show entitled “The Ultimate Fighter 7.” With a
long reach and quick scrambles Nick plans on gaining further success in MMA.
With a (4-0) professional MMA record and a strong work ethic Nick wants to
compete at the mainstream level for years to come.
Born in Madison, WI and raised in Sun Prairie, Nick earned his BJJ education on
the mat with Madison BJJ’s own Mark Plavcan. Nick also trains Muay Thai under
John Phelan. Nick’s MMA style is built on a steady diet of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay
Thai, wrestling and lots of cardiovascular conditioning.
Career
Nick has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai for over 5 years. He
won multiple tournaments and competitions at the advanced level. Nick attained
his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) blue belt from UFC veteran fighter Jorge Gurgel.
Entering into MMA Nick became a professional fighter in 2005. Training in Boxing
and Muay Thai, Nick has become just as dangerous standing up as he is on the
ground. Thanks to great training partners and instructors such as Mark Plavcan,
Kain Rizzo, John Phelan, Troy Ninedorff and Ron Faircloth Nick's skills will continue
to improve. He has one goal and that is to become one of the best mixed martial
artists in the world.
Nick is now trying to become the next Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV’s “The
Ultimate Fighter 7” TV show. He is also striving to improve all aspects of his MMA
game while training with the coaches and other fighters. The show airs on Spike
TV Wednesdays at 9 p.m. Central time. It pits 32 Middleweights (under 185
pounds) against one another in a tournament, with the winner receiving an
Ultimate Fighting Championship contract.
